DVT (digital volume tomography) - also known as 3D X-ray or cone-beam CT - is a state-of-the-art imaging procedure that provides three-dimensional images of the jaw, teeth and surrounding structures.
In contrast to classic 2D images, all anatomical details can be viewed spatially from any angle. Overlapping, which makes normal X-ray images blurred, is a thing of the past.
The radiation exposure is only 70-200 microsieverts - comparable to a long-haul flight, significantly less than a CT scan (up to 800 µSv).
